Wow, I am recovering from Transformus. Thanks to all of you that brought it! What a great year. But, I am now looking ahead to the playa. I just checked puffyyellow.com and we have 50 people signed up to camp with us. Please sign up if you want to join us. I requested space for up to 79 people, so we still have some room. And, don't forget to pay your $20 camp dues. We are trying to raise the money for the truck rental which brings in all the bikes, camp kitchen and other camp equipment. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.

I so need transformus this year and can not wait to see all my dirty family. So who is coming in when? I am opening the gate at noon on Wed., so if you come in then I will be there!!!!! Don't forget Big Puffy Yellow's 4:20 party on Saturday.

I just got home from the Monday night Transformus dinner here in Charlotte.  I am so excited because getting all those creative people at one dinner table is exhilerating and also because EVERYONE was talking about where they are volunteering!!!!!!!

Wew! I feel dirty!!!! (cause Phyrebolt keeps talking to me about rubbing one out...sick bastard:)Hehehe....I miss you freaks:) BUT only 41 days until we burn that bitch on the mountain!And, just an update, for all of you that are wondering, the last batch of tickets for Transformus 2007 will be processed this weekend and sent out next week thanks to Debra, Wordplay and Clove.  Those guys ROCK!!!! So all of you in limbo should find out soon if the ticket goddess was good to ya!

Work is coming down on me like a brick wall, sorry we haven't been able to get to this sooner. Anyway, we finally got the Puffy Yellow site ready for campmates to sign up for attendance and meals. We did a quick edit to the site copy, needs more tweaking. Also, I'm not sure how much organizational help I can be this year, so please jump in and help in any way you can. Here's some of what we need to get done.
To Do List: - Camp registration (I believe Kelly is doing this or has already done so)? - We need to plan events if we are going to have any. - Someone needs to do the regular eblasts to puffers. (attached is the elist from last year and the header graphic for the emails) - Darcy and I will manage the web site, but please contribute any copy input we night be missing. You can email it to me.... - I think we need to be aggressive about donations this year, so we can cover ALL camp costs such as vehicle rental, cooking fuel, trash bags, cleaning supplies for kitchen, etc.... Everybody needs to donate something, at least $20. What's everybody's thoughts on this? - I'm sure there's more??????

Hi All. I am fixin' (how DSB is that!) to register Big Puffy Yellow for That Thing in the Desert. How many of you freaks will be joining us and would like to camp with us? All are welcome. Let me know if you have any special considerations, RVs, campers, etc.

Hi All. After having such a great effigy at Element, I hope some of you will be inspired to come up with a proposal for the Transformus effigy. Prosals are due on 5/4. Send them to llc [at] transformus [dot] com

Due to a car accident that has taken our beloved effigy builder out of commission, we are asking for effigy design submissions from the community. We apologize for the short timeline, but we need to act on this quickly so we have something to BURN!!!!
There are two requests that we have for submissions: 1. Please include some element of bamboo in your design. We are not expecting another Bamboozler, however we would like to honor the Bamboozler design with the inclusion of bamboo. 2. The budget has already been set for the effigy, so we ask that you either present a design that can be executed for $500 or less, or have some means of raising the additional funds.

Effigy design submissions should include:

1. Your name and contact information: This submission is for something that
you are building. If there are others helping you, let us know. A

2. Your prior experience at with burnable art, including the experience of anyone working with you. Have you built large scale burnable art at Burning Man or another regional burn, or another event?

3. Budget: As itemized and realistic as you can do. Include materials, (wood,
fasteners, ALL materials you will need needs to be listed in here).
Due to the nature of the request, we must limit the effigy budget to $500 that was allotted.

4. Plan for building: Schedule loosely and realistically, estimating how long it will take to build the piece. Will you be building it onsite or will you plan to build in advance and bring completed?

5. Safety plan: Are there dangerous places/things involved in this thing? How
will you keep people from dying on/around it? How will you prevent it from
killing people?

6. Burn plan: How much perimeter will you need to burn safely? What accelerants
(if any)? What type of embers will this thing throw?

7. Cleanup plan: What is required to get the burn pad cleared after the burn?

8. Transportation plan: Will it fit in a box truck? Will the pieces be
fragile? How will you move the structure and all the tools you will need? What
comes home, and in what? What schedule is needed for all of this?

9. Inspiration: Why should this get built? How does this speak to the
participants?

10. Drawings, sections, details, models, or whatever it takes to get the idea
across of what it is you would like to build.

Please submit to me via email by Midnight on 5/4/07. If we have any
questions, we will contact you to discuss them (please let us know the best way
to contact you). Our goal is to have a decision by 5/18/07 if not
earlier.

Wow, our event is in just a little over three months and guess what, we do not have an effigy. Unfortunately, Uncle Jonah, who has built the effigy for years, will not be able to do so this year. We are working on some guidelines and will get them up at Transformus.com as soon as we can, but I can tell you that we will require that bamboo is used in some capacity. Please let me know if you are interested in coming up with a purposal for the Effigy. You can e-mail me directly at kal30 [at] hotmail [dot] com and I will get your purposal to the board.

Wow, another successful work/play weekend. We built a bridge and cut up a massive amount of wood. Team leads talked to potential volunteers, made plans for the event and worked on budgets. The BOD held another long but important meeting. The community gathered and played. And, we worked it out with the Landlords to hold another work/play weekend on May 5th. We have one more very important project to complete that weekend, and that will be fortifying the roads of Mysteria. Put this on your calanders and I will get more information out as soon as I can.
