Call for Participation!
Alchemy 2008 Team Lead Applications

We're opening the application process for all 2008 Alchemy team lead
positions. If you have energy, ideas, and experience, please apply!
Team leads will need to be able to help organize their various teams
and attend to local meetings. Applications are due by January 15,
2008.

Please submit your application via email to board@alchemyfestival.com.
Include the following;

Your name
Phone number
Team lead position for which you're applying
Qualifications and any experience
What you'd do to help make this team a success

2008 Alchemy Team Descriptions
------------------------------------------
Art
The Art Team coordinates artists and their art at Alchemy. They work
with the Site Layout team to place large art installations. We
encourage the creation of unique experiences for and by Alchemy
participants.

Center Camp
Center Camp is the home of the Alchemy open mic stage as well as a
comfy place to chill and get to know fellow Alchemists. The Center
Camp team organizes this space and is responsible for scheduling open
mike time and other activities here.

Event Lead
The event lead is the project manager for the entire event. As such,
this team ensures that all the other teams are on schedule and handles
overall planning and management requirements.

Fire Conclave
The Fire Conclave team organizes fire performers for the main burn
night ritual.

Fire Safety
The Fire Safety team is responsible for maintaining safety at the main
burn night ritual and at other fire-related installations and
performances.

Greeters and Gate
The Greeters and Gate team are your first contact at Alchemy. They
handle all check-in and greeting of newly-arrived Alchemy
participants.

Lamp Lighting
The Lamp Lighters perform the the important duty of lighting Alchemy
each night. The team builds and maintains all light poles as well.

Leave No Trace
The LNT team is responsible for continuing education about LNT
philosophy and techniques and helps Alchemy participants identify ways
to help keep their own camps clean. This team is also the lead
organizer for post-festival site recovery, including reseeding of
grass where needed.

Media
The Media Team handles the website, regular newsletters, ticket
printing, the event information booth, and the creation of event
signage.

Medical
The Medical team staffs the medical tent as the first responders for
medical emergencies and coordinates with external medical emergency
organizations.

Mobile Art, Parking, and Traffic Flow
The Mobile Art team is responsible for coordinating all art car
registration as well as all vehicle-related policies and procedures at
the event. In particular, this team registers and inspects art cars
and handles parking and traffic flow.

Music
The Music team will coordinate DJ performances and equipment in the
public music spaces (DJ tent, effigy, etc).

Rangers
The Rangers act as first responders, conflict mediators and site
security for the event. Their primary role is to act to avoid
conflicts where possible and facilitate peaceful resolution of
conflicts when they occur.

Site Services
Site Services is responsible for the placement of signage, wood and
fuel for community burn areas, fuel for Alchemy's generators,
porta-potties, and general on-site needs.

Theme Camp and Site Layout
This team handles the main site layout and is the primary contact for
all theme camps. Theme camps registering ahead of time get prime
placement on the site.

Volunteering
The volunteer coordination team helps to link volunteers with team
needs both before and during the event.
