where'd the skull go?

i agree with several of the comments on here, i think the design has gotten a little busy. i liked the earlier version with the skull where the whipping couple and moonshine jug is. because the skull kinda reinforced the "head" idea, making the bars represent the Man, it just looked more like the burning man icon. plus it just looked cool. and i'm not sure that the s&m couple and the jug will "read" all that well when it's viewed from a distance, and waving in the wind. same with the quote about the freaks your parents warned you about. so, whatever: it could just be simplified a bit.

oh, and by the way, i'm not complaining here. i just like the fact that someone went to all the trouble to design a flag in the first place. and then to put it up for public debate and discussion, well that takes balls. but since i actually don't know too many people on this list yet, please feel free to disregard my comments and say "who the fuck is this guy, anyway?" just thought i'd chime in.

"Need to keep working on it" because I think it's gotten very busy and doesn't convey a clear, sharp meaning. Too many symbols, too much to decode, flames partially obscure the central text.

One idea: strip it down to LobsterX's original PBR central badge, bars, and for stars, have collection of same-sized icons -- mudflap girl, moonshine jug, chicken leg, etc. (important that each icon be distinguishable and same size/color scheme as the rest).

All the efforts at improvement are great -- I hope no one takes my criticisms personally -- I just want the flag/logo/sign to be the best it can be! 

And....DSB RULEZ!

I think the flag is to busy as it is, and needs to be a little more basic.. We have some REALLY good ideas going but we need to organize them a little better. Just my 2 cents yall

Id rather we get it where we want it before sayin its done. I do agree theres a hell of alot of shit goin on in the image.... What are some good ways to tone it down but still spread the image we want. i did like Mustangs idea of each "star" in the bars could be a different image, I know alot of them are blocked by flames and the center logo, but we could concentrate on the ones viewable.... I dont know. Its worth tryin though!!! besides that, I say we find a single image we all like and stick with the head idea and maybe take out some of the fill work in the flag... HA HA, this is why I dont do digital design.... im awefull at it! chw

OK, here's my 2 cents....Countries (or camps possibly in this case) usually have 2 flags. I'm not trying to complicate things, but it could be the way to satisfy everyone's input.....first flag is the national flag. colors and shapes, etc are symbolic and usually don't mean anything except to those who made it. The battle flag however can be as obnoxious, obvious and any other adjectives you want to add. I was once part of a separate country. it was formed the summer after I graduated from college many moons ago. It was a small group, but we were mighty. We were the Savage Republic. We had our national flag that was comprised of at least one representing color from all our ancestrial countries and then we used gesteral shapes that formed a fist around the bars of colors...unifying all. After several adult beverages, we deemed ourselves the greatest country and flag makers of all time. Our battle flag was a simple black flag of tough hand dyed fabric....frayed to look like it had been to several battles...for all we knew, it had been. Take of that input what you will. I have a sewing machine and can help make said flag should the need arise. Rip-stop fabric is a good choice and usually comes in several colors......and it "waves" real well.toodles, sinnamon
