Ride to Burning Man

Calling all burners who haven't found a ride My name's Robb and I'm moving myself and all my possessions across country from NC to LA. I'm leaving on the 18th and plan to make it over by the 23rd or 24th. I'm looking for someone to share the trip with and would be more than happy to stop in Reno along the way for burner folk.
Art on the Playa: "Xylem & Phloem"

Hi, everyone, I just wanted to pass along information about an abstract sculpture on the playa this year, constructed by my DC burner friends Mer and Joel. I will be lending them a hand. Please come out between 3:00 and the Man and check it out! Here is the full information posted by Mer today:

Burning Man tickets sales start with a bang!

Answering the Black Rock Desert's call, thousands of burners went online Wednesday to get a deal on early tickets to the 22nd annual Burning Man counterculture arts festival.
Online tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. and 10,000 were sold for $195 in the first hour and a half, spokeswoman Andie Grace said.
The second set of 10,000 tickets are being sold online at $225 while supplies last and the third set of 10,000 tickets will be $250. Once 30,000 tickets are sold, an unlimited tickets will be available for $280 apiece.

Dirty Southern Burners Villiage at Burning Man

I started thinking about the dirty southern burners (DSB) after the previous post about the DSB theme camp. Well, all of the burners in the south east are not represented in the DSB. I am proposing a DSB villiage at Burning Man (BM). In case anyone doesn't know, a BM villiage is a group of theme camps loosely connected to their villiage in some kind of common theme. The DSB villiage will get a marker on the official BM map and gain status amongst our fellow burners. The south east theme camps I know of so far are: Florida Phamily, Big Puffy Yellow. I'm sure there are a few more. A requirement for a villiage is that there needs to be at least 150 people. I think we can easily pull that off. The result will be a closer bond with all the southern burners using the DSB as the connection. I'm volunteering to spearhead this effort if the feedback warrants it.
