TOWN HALL MEETING/CPR TRAINING NOVEMBER 17-18

There will be a "massing of Mysterians" at Deerfields the Saturday and Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 17th and 18th, for a Town Hall Meeting. This will be a great opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas about successes of last year and suggestions for Transformus 08 with the re-structured Board of Directors.

Meet Team Leads and learn more about where your talents might best be served. TLs, it's never too early to start recruiting volunteers...to reconnect with fellow Transformaniacs. If you've never been and want to learn more about Transformus, come on out to Deerfields.

If you want to come in on Friday evening to camp, that is fine. There will be a small charge of $10 to cover the cost of port-o-lets. All participants need to be off property by 2 PM on Sunday.

We will meet on the Pavillion Stage at 1 PM on Saturday for the Town Hall Meeting. We are planning to put tarps up as a wind break and will have some heat source available. If anyone has a commercial "jet engine" heater like they use on construction sites or at Minnesota Viking football games, please let me know ASAP at wordplay [at] transformus [dot] com so we can make arrangements for fuel.

We are also planning a Red Cross CPR Training and Certification at Deerfields this same weekend. If you are interested in taking this course, we are willing to pay for it, but there is an expectation that you will serve as a Mysteria Ranger or with the Emergency Response Team in July 2008. Space for this training is limited to 13 participants, so if you are interested in getting certified, let me know ASAP at the same email address.

We'll have a potluck supper on Saturday evening...please label anything you would like to share as "meat," "poultry," "fish," or "vegetarian." Remember to stay hydrated, and be prepared for winter camping conditions.

Oh, and we'll have a fire on Friday and Saturday nights, so feel free to bring your poi or other blinky toys, music, and other fun entertainment!!!!

This is a social gathering as opposed to a Work/Play Weekend, although I'm sure a spontaneous micro-MOOP patrol might just happen...as always, the LNT Principle is in effect!
